'Tis the season

Christmas.

'Tis the season for a faux fur and a beret, obviously.

 Yes, just like that.

For the holly and the ivy.

For a Star of Wonder, Star of Night.

For Obligatory Blogger Vintage Christmas Decorations (left in their box by my unimpressed kids, who decorated our tree with all the crap instead. I let it go - after all, they saved me a job.)

For last bits and pieces of shopping...

Great name for a shop.

I'd be happier with a bottle of Bombay Sapphire. Which I just happen to have bought myself...

'Tis the season for a Christmas jumper...

I prefer mine decorated with vintage brooches.

Nothing says Christmas like leopard print, right?

And red gloves. A tiny homage to Santa.

Windsmoor faux fur coat - vintage fair
Leopard print dress, yellow cardigan and sequin beret - charity shopped
Jumper/dress - Ebay
Leopard print beret - pub quiz prize
Boots - community fair
KMK leggings - gift from Cristi
Gloves - retail (sale)
Brooches - bought at flea markets or had forever

Thinking about my Christmas Day outfit now.

What do you reckon?

I know!

What will you be wearing?

Fab festive post Curtise, love all the nostalgic Christmas imagery you've brought us, especially Diana Dors..what a babe. That's a very classy cluster of brooches you've got there and leopard skin is all the rage it seems. In the last week I've seen a leopard skin tracksuit, pushchair and even a tattooed leopard skin arm! Top idea to let the kids decorate the tree, more time for you to get stuck into the Bombay Sapphire. On Christmas day I'll be wearing my Allison Street pinafore dress. xxxx

I suddenly find myself wanting a pair of red leather gloves.

I have a black dress very similar to your grey one, it has never occurred to me to put brooches on the collar ( of which I have many !! ) so that's what I will be giving a go over the festive period, thanks for the tip :-)

I will probably be wearing my pajamas. Love your lively outfits and that beautiful drawing with the wreath. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

Choices, choices, I'll probably forget to change, I'll be cooking and can't stand to have anything nice on.

PS: that Hoover would make any gal's heart flutter (while she using it to beat the guy senseless)

Oh my god, I love all these outfits, you stunner you! I need to do leopard, stat - what a great idea for Christmas! For Christmas, I will be at my mother-in-law's, in a very small town. Not a dressy affair by any means - my brother-in-law will likely be in camo!

So much fun stuff! Faux fur. Obviously. Real fur just falls apart. I love your vintage brooches. You are looking quite foxy as always. And Bombay Sapphire. That's my girl! You know...gin is gluten free. Now don't you feel healthy?

The Hoover! I wonder if it's too late to change my list!
The Bombay Sapphire is a much better choice.
You and your fur look gorgeous. For Christmas I think you should opt for the red garter look. Very festive.

Oh, so many great pictures here, I can't remember them all. If my husband gets me a Hoover, I hope he'll like getting a new lawn mower!

The gray sweater dress is especially lovely on you, and the brooch accents are perfect!

What will I be wearing? Five extra pounds and a hangover.

So many little wonderful bits that add up to a big blast of holiday cheer here. I hope you got the angel topper for yourself too, doing vixen stuff, mum stuff, work stuff, shopping stuff, etc. You look great, faux fur and a beret, how could you not? Santa was/is a perve.

Your posts always bring a smile on my face, Curtise! Like your ideas for Christmas day! All your today's outfits are so wintery and cozy and you look great in them.

We hit 40 degrees here today ... so no fur for me.
What will I be wearing on Christmas Day? Well if we don't get a cool change soon it will be as little as possible ... sorry family.

My computer is acting up so I only saw the very tops of the pictures, but I was able to read your commentary!! Leopard is the perfect thing to wear for Christmas, or anytime, I think. What will I be wearing? Haven't a clue yet. Looking forward to seeing what you put together. I know it will be fab.

Much love to you and the family!! I can imagine how excited the kids are. That's the best part. xxoo

I will hopefully be wearing a bottle of Bombay Sapphire too! Not sure if it helps or hinders those family squabbles though.

I love the brooches, I never think to wear more than one at a time.
Leopard is for all year not just for Christmas ;-)

You are gorgeous, faux fur and leopard, yes please! and a bottle of Bombay Sapphire, it all sounds perfect! and 3 brooches, is the pinnacle of happy - I'd rather like to be dressed like Diana Dors, but my leg hair would poke through the fishnets, I don't know what I'll be wearing, in my head it's all rather glamorous, truthfully I manage 'shit' very well! x x x

Happy with a Hoover? I remember when my dad bought my mum a set of pans; still etched into mind even now and my parents left this mortal coil years ago! Not one of his better ideas!!
In my secret life I would dress as Bettie Page every day!! And probably drink Bombay Sapphire all day too!
Mind you, that DD outfit is rather wonderful as are you, my dear!
Fabulous!

Oh how I want the outfit in the second picture! One year I will have a Christmas dress. Love the Hoover ad!

I will be wearing red - what else?
Love your sweater with the brooches. Great vintage/festive idea.

Your Christmas sweater dress is the best! But please, do wear the naughty Santa look and share with us. That old Hoover ad - my husband would have to leave town and change his name if he bought me a cleaning device. xoxo

Hot mama I love you in this figure hugging dress and the KMK leggings are perfect with it! You have me feeling all Christmassy after this post:). Since Chris and I get Xmas day to ourselves I can honestly say I will be in my most comfy and cute pjs all day being a sloth! Friday we head to his Moms so I will make myself purty then. Have a merry christmas Curtise!

Oh you are brilliant Curtise! Love all your vintage pics and your own outfits are perfect as always. My daughter and I have a tongue in cheek tradition of wearing green and red on Christmas day - it amuses our sad selves! Merry Christmas and don't work too flippin hard on Boxing Day! Vicky x

This is such a fun-filled post - love all the vintage yummy-ness! I agree - nothing says Christmas like leopard ;) I adore Betty Page, and would love to have boots like those little red fur-trimmed ones she's wearing.

My friend and I are going to make our own crazy Christmas sweaters to wear at her place for dinner on the 25th. That will be my project for this weekend.

What fun! I fear your offspring may not appreciate the stockings and suspenders as much as the husband! Plus it's getting chilly!
Your coat is so classy and flattering.
That hoover ad!!! How times have changed. Thank God. xxxx

Bloody gorgeous in your fake fur, snazzy leggings, slinky sweater dress and fabulous leopard.
Bombay Sapphire sounds a far more sensible option than a Hoover (unless Jarvis Cocker's attached to the other end).
Beautiful inspiration. I'll mostly be wearing a big grin knowing that I'll be on a plane a week on Xmas day!
Love you! xxxxxxxxxx

That coat with the leopard peeking out
Just too fabulous for words
Have a great weekend

Love the faux fur & beret look - it really suits you. Fab!
The idea that anyone's husband would give thema hoover for Christmas is amazing. I've seen 1930s ads suggesting to husbands that an electric fire would be the thing to give. Definitely better to have Bombay Sapphire...xxx

Look at you in your sweater dress - just gorgeous. Those pin up Christmas pics made me snigger and the Hoover advert is out of this world.

your furry coat is really perfect for any cool season, and love how you're wearing your knit jumper with a lot of vintage brooches!, and red gloves!!
and you're right, leopard print is great for xmas!, I think I'm going to wear some leopard and enjoy a roarrrr xmas!
besos

Oooohhhh that last festive outfit is the one I reckon! And nothing screams Christmas like leopard print. Sounds like you have the festive season under control and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas filled with lots of food, gorgeous gifts, loved ones and truck load of Bombay Saphire! XXX

happier with a hoover? Looks like a simple way to enrage your wife on Christmas morning! I have been making a dress for Christmas day - but like many other parts of my life right now its lying about unloved!

Brooch saturation and so many sexy dresses - is it hot in here or what?

You made me laugh when you said your kids decorated your tree with crap. Our tree at home barely went up, and I think it maybe had 13 ornaments on it totes, most of them in back for some odd reason, but hey, it was more than I would have done :P

Belated holiday wishes, lovely lady! You brighten my day so often that I just have to say THANK YOU! and LOVE YOU!
