Grey is not a colour I wear very often, despite the number of bloggers I see looking chic and effortless and elegant in this shade.
But in the spirit of never saying never, here I am in black and grey.
It comes to something when the scruffy brick wall at the bottom of the garden is the most colourful thing in the photo...
...apart from my hair!
Still, in keeping with my dire need to have a very thrifty January, it is an extremely cheap outfit.
Tunic dress - 99p, Ebay
Waistcoat - £2.99, I think, charity shop
Leggings - 20p, jumble sale
Boots - can't remember but they were 75% off in an online sale a couple of years ago.
Burlesque headpiece - Christmas gift from my darling friend Patsy
Necklace - £1.50, charity shop
Purple ring - £3.50, stall at school fair
Red ring - ancient, gift
1950s marcasite brooches - feather and circular ones, 50p each, charity shop
Bow brooch - rescued from our childhood dressing up jewellery box
Cut out bangle - Christmas gift from my mate Sal
Engine-turned bangle - £1, charity shop
Souvenir bracelet - bought in a charity shop in Walsall with beach babe Vix, £3.99 I think
That little lot, though by no means pricey, cost more than my clothes!
Even the purple nail varnish was a gift.
Charlie fits the monochrome theme and he was free.
Interestingly, when we went round to have dinner with friends, it was commented on that I was wearing black and grey.
It is unusual for me, and clearly people notice.
Full colour will resume in my next post, I'm sure!
Can't be outshone by the brickwork and the evergreen ground cover...
I don't feel at my most visible, but I'm linking up with Patti and the gals anyhow!
