It's wonderful, everywhere so white

I must be having a monochrome moment - all black in my last post, all white today.

Well the dress is silver actually.

I bought this 1960s wool/lurex dress and matching tie-front cardigan at a vintage fair a year ago.

I wear the dress reasonably often, but usually paired with a bright colour.
I figured the all-silver ensemble is a little too much...

...but I'm kinda liking it now though, must be the influence of the snow.

And I think it helps that my hair is brighter too.

The gorgeous soft cobwebby scarf is yet another wonderful gift from darling Kylie, which she sent along with a birthday present for Littlest;

The Hound of Love.

Thank you, Kylie!

1960s Jersey Masters of London maxi dress - vintage fair
Silk pussy-bow blouse, Silver Fox faux fur coat, bangles and belt - charity shopped
Arsehole Aerosole boots (doing a great job in the snow) - Ebay
Scarf - gift from Kylie

I gradually divested myself of clothing in the garden.

I hope you appreciate the sacrifices I make for this blog!

Silver Lady!

Without the coat, I feel all Victorian/Edwardian school ma'am or lady's maid.

Please sir, I'm sure I didn't mean to seduce the young Master of the house...
Pray do not throw me out in the snow, for what will become of me?
I shall be forced to ply my trade with that hussy Miss Simmonds on the Ladies Mile...

Just look at the amazing Clare

Now this is my idea of historical re-enactment!

Ooh, I'm not taking my coat off again, not for love nor money!

Oh you do look lovely, all snow maiden. No wonder the master of the house caved in. He had no chance. I love the dress and cardigan together, with those soft floppy sleeves, and the fur jacket is lovely too. No colour needed other than your hair and that cute red flower. Perfect. xxx

I apprecciate all you are doing for us and I admire your courage,I couldn't take off my coat with this cold!Lurex is one of my favourite fabrics, but nowadays it's really hard to find a great vintage dress like yours! It's brilliant with the fake silver fox coat, you created a great outfit for the snow, yes obviously you can't go skiing with it, but it's glamurous and stunning!
Beware of Clare Simmonds!

I can see you and the gorgeous/hussy Clare hanging out by your big tree waiting for the garbage collector to come by. He'd think he landed in his dream route!

I love all this white on you. It really makes your hair pop, which is what I love about having red hair, same as you I'm sure. When you took that gorgeous coat off I loved the dress even more with the blouse underneath. And those stacks of bangles, bobbles, and time pieces, OH My!

And I totally know what you mean about wanting a bedroom all of your own. I do have a tiny space upstairs in the attic which I like to go to when I need to pretend I'm living alone. When your kids move out you can claim one of their spaces all to yourself. ;)

You look tres chic with the fur and the black scarf. That silver ensemble is amazing on its own, but must be so fun to add different accents!

Lovely, very suitable for the weather! I have a similar jacket from C&A, but I've only worn it once. I reckon you and Claire would have had the Ladies Mile all sewn up!

I love your style!
I am an English girl living in Texas for 22 years now and your pictures make me so nostalgic.
I have lots of vintage clothes packed away in boxes, you have given me so many good ideas. Now, fingers crossed that some of them still fit.
I guess if they do not I could have a try at selling them on eBay.
Thank you for all your lovely pictures and information,
Please keep on treating us to your delights.

You remind me of the white witch from Narnia, although not as meanie as her, of course... The shirt works perfectly with your dress, and I like the partial strip in the garden! xx

I love all the silver Curtise, I don't think it's too much at all, it is very old Hollywood as some have said. And I had a good laugh at the strumpet Miss Simmons leading you down the wrong path. I so agreed with what you said on Joni's blog too! I'm a person who loves to spend time alone yet I've ended up in a house crowded with people and animals, and I often wonder how did that happen, as I go quietly mad in amongst it all. xx

Fantastic silver outfit Curtise! I can't get enough of lurex - I have a pastel blue lurex knit dress, also 60's, that I'd love to wear more than just at parties. The fur is just perfect with it. And of course I love your red lips!
