It's coming on Christmas

Work is finished for the year, the cupboards are full, and I believe I am ready to party!

How to style a pair of your daughter's leopard ears.
Pinch them; then put 'em on. Simple.

Our friends Diana and Jim always throw a winter party featuring a brazier and outdoor seating. I thought a sleeveless frock was fine for the indoor parts of the do, then I can throw the leopard fur back on for the outdoorsy bits.

We're off round to theirs a bit later on today, and look, I'm ready to go!

1970s C&A maxi dress and ankle boots - Ebay
1970s Wallis faux fur jacket - Kinky Melon's Retro Boutique
Bangles - charity shopped
Ears - nicked off Claudia

There are more festivities tomorrow, at Sal and Terry's annual Christmas Eve gathering.

Hmm, what shall I wear?

This was yesterday's final supermarket shop outfit.

Actually, it was all quite civilised at Morrisons, busy but good-natured, and I managed to talk Simon out of buying the entire cheese counter this year... Believe me, that's quite a feat of negotiation.

1970s Decosse Scottish tweed coat - flea market
Flares - made by me from 1970s fabric and pattern
Top, ankle boots, necklace and bangles - charity shopped
Belt - retail (sale)

And that's me ready for the festive season. I hope you are doing (or not doing) Christmas in whatever way suits you best, with a minimum of stress and maximum enjoyment.

Wishing you happy times, my friends!

Bugger! Magpie beat me! Two ace oufits. Those flares are amazing - love them! That dress looks gorgeous with the fake fur. Does Claud know about the cat's ears?
Jon goes a bit mental on the cheese counter too, its no mean feat trying to restrain a hungry bloke with a cheese fetish.
Have a fab party and a bostin' Xmas. Expect a drunken text on Xmas night if I get any obscure questions!
Love you! xxxxxx

The ears are super and really really cute on you- you should wear them all the time! I wore little reindeer antlers yesterday- small subtle Lindt ones that came from a child at school!
I do love your outfits and hope you have a beautiful time with your family. x

Our fridge is about half cheese right now. OK, 3/4 so I won't judge.

I don't think I've seen that tweed coat before-love it! Nice seeing your flares again as well.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, and the happiest New Year.

Yes indeedy. I am all about big trousers. And you have the lovely long stems to carry them off. That is a fancy party that requires a wardrobe change. You would have to reference that Joni Mitchell song. Now I'm about to get all blubbery. So Ms. Feral Cat, wishing you and yours a merry merry. Love *

Enjoy the festivities Curtise, I will be hitting Morrisons after work tomorrow (now technically today), hope it's still civilised. Best wishes to you and all the family xx

I'm as green as The Grinch with envy, looking at those maxi flares. Persons who are as vertically (and, yes, horizontally) challenged as I am simply can't wear them. *sigh*
Those faux fur ears are adaptable, however. I"m thinking mink. Mink earmuffs would be an excellent substitution for a silk babushkha worn with slacks and an odd jacket that has a mink body and sweater sleeves. There is no nicer present than a good idea -- thanks, Curtise!

Sleeveless in Winter? But then I saw the fur, love the ears. Enjoy your parties and festivities and choosing what outfits to wear, all part of the fun and games.

Babes, those are some AWESOME fucking flares! You are becoming quite the bloody seamstress!
Love that you stole your daughters leopard ears!! Huzzah! You make them just that bit more saucy!!!!
the frock is delightful, I look forward to seeing a lot more of it!
Mmmm, Simon and G have the same thing for cheese, clearly....!!!! I must admit to being pretty keen myself, luckily we have different tastes in cheese. he likes blue, I like feta and sharp cheese, aged cheddars etc. And ALL the accompaniments!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXLove you!

You look so fabulous as always-so you and so right! Leopard ears! Yes!! I do love that Scottish tweed coat and the flares you made. Can I be your sister so I can borrow them? Oh darn, I think you are smaller than I am.

I hope all the parties have been fun and that Simon got as much cheese as he needed!
Love and hugs!

Look at you looking all glamorous and ready for a party or two. Lovely, that maxi is fantastic, and get you in trousers! Super dooper. I went a bit mad on the Christmas cheese myself. So far, we've nearly eaten the stilton, still about five varieties to go. My eyes are often bigger than my belly. Although actually, my belly is definitely looking fuller. Still that's what the new year is for isn't it? A fad diet. Hope you had a lovely Xmas xxxxxx

Merry Christmas a few days late Curtise! I'm with Simon...I don't know what it is with cheese and Christmas, but I'm always way to eager to fill my cart to the brim with brie, and every other kind of cheese available.

I think your ears are spectacular and you might consider wearing them as a signature accessory. In fact, I'm thinking that I should adopt cat ears too...I can well imagine that one could only be in a cheery mood when thus adorned!

You've probably read about the most recent Canadian blogger meetup. Just letting you know that both you and Curtise are on my must see one day list! xo
