She's filing her nails while they're dragging the lake

Yellow is a happy sort of colour, isn't it?

Perfectly suited to a sunny, fun-filled weekend.

This is the first wear of the yellow dress I bought with the gals last week at Chesterfield flea market.

Colour inspiration from the garden.

It's difficult to find a spot in the garden where the bright sunlight doesn't bleach out the colour.

And sitting on the edge of the raised flower bed led to an unfortunate green splodge appearing on the back of the dress...

Oh the hazards of style blogging, it's a tough gig.

An outfit bursting with Blogger Love; dress bought on a wonderful blogger day out, and both rings are gifts from lovely blog friends, as is the red floral bangle.

1970s dress - flea market
Leopard print leggings, ballerina flats and vintage sunglasses - Ebay
Belt, necklace and bangles - charity shopped
Heart ring - gift from darling Vix
Mosaic ring and floral bangle - gift from delicious Tania

My sis and her man came down to Sheffield for the weekend; she and I both have birthdays at the end of the month, and I had arranged an early birthday treat.

We went to see Elvis Costello, hurray!

He was brilliant, played for 2 and a half hours, got audience members up on stage to spin the wheel and select songs, and sang as he wandered among the enthusiastic crowd.

We went to our favourite Chinese restaurant for lunch today, then strolled around a sunny Sheffield city centre, including the Winter Gardens.

Aah, me and my sis! She's one of the nicest people I know.

My kids just adore their auntie and uncle.

Yellow, red and leopard print seem like a pretty visible combination to me, so I'll be joining the other lovelies at Patti's Visible Monday as usual.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Leopard leggings with a demure yellow 70's dress? Genius!!

First of all, I love red with yellow, but the addition of the leggings is straight up fun!

You are extremely fortunate in having a nice sister! xxxx

Yay the new dress. Modelled ever so stylishly if I may say so. I absolutely love it. I think it would also look great minus the leggings cos you have great pins. Your sister reallly looks like you. Great that you all get along so well. The family shots are so cute. Elvis Costello is a legend isn't he. My other half is a big fan too xxxx

Lovely, definitely the best colour for the weather! Looks like a great family weekend. Sounds like Elvis was a real treat, I think it's really important for artists to get fans involved.

Amazing colours! Yellow makes me smile and want to frolic in the sun (if there was much sun to be had around these parts). Love the leopard leggings - a girl can never have too much leopard I reckon.

FABULOUS!!! No self-respecting church-lady would dare to pair leopard capri leggings with her prim and proper CPD!!! You are the rebel!!

AWESOME getting to see Elvis Costello (love him!)

Hello Yellow!!!! I didn't think I'd ever wear yellow until my first foray in the hand knitted bed jacket. Now I kind of like it. I love the pic of you & your sis. Are you ladies similar or completely different like me & my big sis? Loving that maxi skirt too. SOOOOO pretty. Xx

Leapin' leopard-legged lusciousness! You're a sight for sunny days. I hope Elvis knows how honored he was to have Clementine le Derriere in the audience!!!! Personally, I cannot wait for ClemFest, and I am quivering in anticipation of reading your CLIT! Madame, you perfume the air with your wind.

ooh, so summery and sweet. i look awful in yellow, but i love it anyway. you sis is gorgeous too, what a gene pool!
now i wondered where that title was from. can you believe i have never knowingly listened to an elvis costello song? if one were to start what would you suggest?

Vix said...

I love that dress, it's even better on your hot bod and perfect with those leopard leggings underneath, can you imagine wearing animal print to a church picnic? The vicar would have heart failure!
Of course your sister is gorgeous and brilliant company, she's related to you! Love the family shots and insanely jealous of Elvis Costello. 2 and a half hours? That's what I call value for money! Love the sin the wheel idea, too. Maybe the Stones'll do that at Glasto and I can get all inappropriate with Mick and Keef!
I want to visit the Winter Gardens next!
Love you! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I love that yellow frock on you! I'm not sure I've seen you wear yellow before, but it really is your colour. It looks like its lovely and warm there now, the winter gardens look fabulous. Also 2 and a half hours of Elvis Costello? That's a very impressive set! I bet it was an awesome night out :D

I'm very envious of you seeing Elvis Costello. That sounds an amazing gig.

Your sis looks lovely, you look so happy together in that photo.

As Vix says, we will have to come up to Sheffield and go to the Winter Gardens with you next time.

What a happy bunch! It is always nice to get together, isn't it? My siblings are scattered all over the world, so whenever we get a chance to meet, we really use every single minute available to catch up! Love the yellow dress.. it would look good even on its one but the leggings adds character!

Yellow IS a happy colour and doesn't your yellow CPD look delightful on, especially combined with leopard skin print leggings. Miaow...

I saw Elvis Costello years ago, it was an acoustic gig, just him and his guitar, and again he played for a good couple of hours. It was mesmerising, spell-binding. The best gig I've ever been to. He is wonderful.

How lovely that you and your sis get on so well and that the kids adore them. I like to hear about happy families.

I just spotted the hibiscus in your beautiful floral pics. Heavenly. xxxxx

The dress is even better on than in the photo. Yellow and leopard print are perfect together. Love the red belt too. It looks stunning. Lovely family photos, the Winter gardens are just wonderful, you're lucky to have them so close by. That snake looks rather cheeky. I love the wheel of fortune for choosing gig songs! xxxx
ps: LOVED your VOGOFF article!

Have you had a lovey week or what? Love from the girls, then early b-days with your adorable sis and fam ... you deserve every minute of it.
Love the dress, of course ... it has extra noir dimensions with the leopard leggings and the title of the post. Of course she does!
Have a grand week, Curtise.

This is one of the best blog titles ever. Is that yours or should I know it from somewhere?
You are gorgeous in this yellow dress with that sassy belt and animal on your legs. Rrrr. Elvis C, what a fun night. You should have the 12 Days of Birthday. You deserve it. And I always love photos of your family.

You saw Elvis Costello!! I'm very very jealous now Curtise, I love him, two and a half hours of his music would be a real treat. You look lovely in yellow and leopard print, it is a happy colour isn't it, I don't have a lot of it though, an excuse to buy more stuff, yay! And I'm still jealous about Elvis. xx

Lucky you getting to see Elvis Costello!
When I first saw that yellow dress on your earlier post, I thought "how sweet." But you've taken your sweet CPD and turned it into a bad-ass look. Very clever!
Love the red floral bangle and the new rings.

Had to pop back and let you know how much I loved your Vogueoff spread. The best of outrageous ... so happy to see it. Made many laughs.
I showed it to Dan this morning ... it was so fun to just watch him reading it. You know how they tuck their chins and snap their eyebrows to the hairline, all in one move? He did a lot of that...and told me to say he was most taken with your contribution! I haven't had this much fun, first thing in the AM with my coffee in a very long time.
Ye gods, you guys rock.

oOooh I love this combo and I LOOOOOOVE ELVIS COSTELLO! I've seen him three times and I am mad with envy that he invited people on stage to spin the wheel - I would have rigged it to play Shipbuilding. I'm a ratbag shithead arsehole.

YOU are beautiful, my love. I love this pretty sunshiney dress on you - and the perfect red accessories (LOVE the painted bangle) and mostly, your gorgeous face. Plus your garden is delightful. And I love Elvis Costello. And you. And the dress. And yellow. And your garden. Right. Got it?

Love, Sarah xxx
