So here we are;
summer holidays over, kids back at school, and routine bites hard.
Doesn't mean the wardobe has to be routine, does it?
Of course not.
I
am trying not to be stuck in my comfortable rut, remember, and an easy
place to start is by wearing a fabulously loud frock and messing with my hair.
I know, I'm really challenging myself here...
I know, I'm really challenging myself here...
Baby steps!
Elvis would approve of that collar!
Speaking of loud frocks, I have just received two delightful parcels of frockage from blog friends.
Heaven sent from Helga...
... a spectacular 1970s maxi dress, a homemade 1970s day dress and skirt, and a fabulously blingy gold pendant. I've worn the maxi already!
And from Supermodel Tamera...
... a wonderfully groovy 1960s maxi dress and a slinky wrap top, plus handmade card and two amazing necklaces.
Ladies, I am thrilled and delighted, thank you so much!
1970s maxi dress - gift from Sister Sarah
Sunglasses - gift from Helga
Orange hair flower - gift from Mrs Coco
Belt, necklace, yellow hair flower and bangles - chairty shopped
Clarks sandals - Ebay
I think I look like the lesbian love child of Noosha Fox and Margo Leadbetter.
This, by the way, is a good thing.
You are welcome.
Oh Noosha, how I love you...
Almost as much as I love my dear blog buddies.

I LOVE what you did with your hair here, it's all flicky and fabulous! Noosha is so pretty, I love that song. Herbie, the guitarist was landlord in a pub in the village we just moved from, he was also on Britain's Got Talent. I used to see him in the village from time to time.
You have some beautiful dresses there and I love the one you're wearing xxx
Now you see, I Love Margot, despite the outdated no PC comments. Except may tradesmen, she may have a point there lol. Fabulous dress, did you rock up to school like that?

Oh my, I did enjoy the clip of Noosha Fox and her band. Blimey, the blokes look somewhat stiff and awkward in comparison to the lovely Noosha. Anyway, who cares about them. You look totally fabulous. Still loving the fringe and the flicky bits look wundabar. As for the dress, I must say it's one of my favourites on you (I think I say that nearly every time I comment). xx
Ok! looooove the hair and adore the dress the louder the better i say!
What do i have to do to get goodies as well;) Swap maybe?
I am so jealous!
The kids go back to school tomorrow here - it is election day for us Quebecois! the schools are closed -

The bodice on that green dress from Helga is gorgeous. The fabric is very cool.
I love the Japanese feel of the maxi dress. So pretty.
I've never heard of Noosha Fox (what a name!)Her outfit is crazy in a good way. And you look divine. Love that purple top. Hey, it's purple!
looking good as always, and that belt, far out, whadda belt, the sort that could give even me a waist!
Just looooove the red dress.
Love your hair all tousled up like that Curtise, and so much fabulous stuff I don't know where to start except to say lucky you! Would love to watch the clip but everyone still in bed except me and Pat so will have to come back to it later. xx
Not surprised the virginia creeper wants to eat you - you look fabulous in that vibrant little number and I love the new hairstyle too, the fringe is brilliant! My children don't go back to school until the end of the week and I'm saving labelling the new uniforms til then... Vicky x

Oh - and - this song has been on high rotation in my head and on my ipod for decades! LOOOVE! Sarah xxx
Watching the clip at last, she's like Alison Goldfrapp's spiritual mum isn't she. xx
That is an *excellent* thing.
You look amazing! The frock is perfect to banish any of those back-to-school blues (or are you happy that the kids are back?)
You look like somebody fun to hang with. And what wonderfully delicious frocks from your blog buddies. the 60's maxi I can't wait to see you frolic around in.
Messy Elvis is good!
Wow. So many goodies to play with, and from our blogging Goddess, Tamara. You really rate. Love the color on that dress you are wearing and the belt with it, wow, it makes your already small waist look absolutely tiny. Great look.
That looks GREAT on you! Wowsa! And I am loving that picture with the flower in your hair -- the closeup! Very pretty!
xoxo
Lynn
Great look and I love your belt. Have noidea who Noosha is, but soon ...
Wow, your hair! Love it! You look fabulous (just for a change). At least someone in the school gates brigade is standing up for glamour. I'm a big fan of Margo xxx
Curtise, you look GORGEOUS in that dress! It's so beautiful. I just love the colours. I also freaked out for the maxi dress from Ms. Helga. Can't wait to see that one modeled.
I too am hating the biting schedule again. Can you imagine a couple of months ago I was complaining about having to swim at my sister's every day? Clearly I am an idiot.
Best frock ever, my dear Curtise, ahhhhhhhhhhh.
Love your hair too.

Ooo, you lucky thing you, getting such fabulous prezzies from stylish blog buddies!! I'm going to have to figure out how to get in on this swap thing. I love you in the orange maxi, especially the last photo where you are being eaten by your vines. Can't wait to see you in the new maxis.
The picture of you in the vines should be framed-it's perfect!! Love your hair here, too. Hope you can enjoy the new schedule at some point.
I think you're doing a fab job at getting out of your "rut" already! This dress is utter amazingness, and your hair is to die for! How did the other school Mum's cope after getting an eyeful of you?
I'm still in awe of your new hair! I really love tihs dress, such a gorgeous print. I'm rather jealous of your presents too!
See you tomorrow!!! xxxx
ps: need to know more about Noosha!
that belt you are wearing is fabulous!
love that 1960's maxi, can't wait to see you wear it
brett
I can't believe how you get gifts all of the time. You are a gift magnet and some really great ones too. Like, to die for vintage dresses. Looks like you are having so much fun with your new hair, I am so tempted to get the fringes. Anyway, I busted out laughing when you commented on my blog about the shelf and little bottles, something about getting your glasses. You are funny. I love a good sense of humor, I am told that I am funny but my writing is lazy and humor doesn't always show up. Have a great weekend. Love the belt and dress, beautiful fit and colors. dawn suitcase vignettes xo
I see you are enjoying your new hair cut ,so much more possibilities ,right? I dread the beggining of the school year and the back to routine thing. But I find inspiration to these colorful nostalgic ? dresses of yours. So kind other bloggers send you the stuff.
I don't even know who those folks are, but with the photos, my gawd you're right!
I've discovered I love seeing the contents of the packages that blogger buddies send each other just about as much as I like seeing their outfits. I think the contents show how well bloggers and readers get to know each other.
You look amazing in this dress. That haircut is like the fountain of youth. I'm thinking it's time to jazz mine up with a shorter snip.
I'm loving your hair and of course the addition of a floral headpiece is always a delight. The Virginia Creeper is brilliant for consuming you in the waist defining belt with 70's maxi! You couldn't be more glamorous!
I see that you just named a Rooster. Congratulations. I just named a Hen. You are a girl of MANY talents. I'm proud to be in the poultry naming business with you!

Looks like you are definitely getting out of the rut. New hairstyle & fab dress. You look great.
You are a perfect combi of those two - in the best possible way. You do find some fabulous frocks. The Portland works are near your cafe (which Ive never been to but will visit on your recommendation!) xxxx
Another gorgeous maxi and your boobs look amazing! I'm a big Margot fan. She had some gorgeous dresses - usually long and floaty but with a fair amount of cleavage. I'm new to Noosha, but I love her hair and she seems delightfully bonkers, I will have to investigate her a bit more.
Love your belt and all your parcel gifts - the multi-coloured, multi-strand necklace is a corker and the greeny cubist dress is so unusual.
Hope you feel a bit less rut-y soon.
Nikki x
